Day 1

Detail of Kalaw Trekking 2 Days

Meals: Lunch, Dinner

After breakfast, you will set off for the trek by walking up to Kalaw hill, passing a pine forest to Lutpyin, a Danu village. Then you will continue walking up a hill for half an hour to Shabin, another Danu village. Lunch break will be held in a local house in the village.

The first destination in the afternoon is Panlone, an exemplary Pa Oh village, where you will have the chance to learn about the locals’ lifestyle and tradition. Most people here are farmers, they grow rice, ginger, chili, potato, sesame and sell their produce to earn a living. That is the reason why their life is so simple and tranquil. Just a few steps up to the top of the hill and you can marvel at the interesting view of Kalaw.

Next, you will wander along the ridge with breaths of wind to head down to Sekkyagone, a Danu village. You will enjoy the dinner and stay overnight here.

Day 2

Kalaw Trekking 2 Days Ending

Meals: Lunch

You will start the second day with an up-and-down trek through the rice fields to Myindaik train station. En route, you will get to see garlic and vegetable farms, flowers and pear trees. Carrying on with a 2-hour trek across the rainforest will lead travelers to a resting point on the top of the hill with a small restaurant and a lovely garden whose owner is a Nepalese family.

After having lunch there, you can take a few-minute walk down to a Palaung village called Taryaw. There you will be able to gain an insight into the village and also the rustic life of the dwellers. If you happen to be here in the festive season, you will even have the opportunity to join in these traditional religious ceremonies as well as trying out flashy local costumes.
